KikiVoice provides recording and audio processing tools and algorithms that run in your browser on your device. Audio files are not uploaded to KikiVoice servers.
Recording performance, processing time, and the experience with longer recordings depend on your device and browser.
Online microphone audio recorder
Record voice notes, narration, interviews, and more directly from your microphone. Everything runs locally in your browser for a fast and private recording experience.
What the audio recorder does
- Record audio instantly from your browser microphone with live waveform feedback.
- Preview your recording to check sound quality and timing.
- Trim the exact section you need and download it instantly.
How to record audio
Allow microphone access, click Start Recording, speak or play the sound you want to capture, then stop and preview the result. Drag the waveform handles if you only want part of the recording, then download the audio. For cleaner audio, record in a quiet room and keep the microphone at a steady distance.
What can this online audio recorder help you do?
Audio Recorder captures sound from your microphone. Speak, read aloud, or record a spoken draft directly in your browser. After stopping, listen back, keep the section you need, and download an MP3. You do not need to create an account or log in.
Use this page to create a new microphone recording. If you already have an audio file to trim or convert, use the relevant tool below. This page does not turn text into voiceovers or offer voice cloning or voice changing features.
How do I record, trim, and download an MP3?
-
Click Start Recording and allow microphone access
Click Start Recording in the recorder above. On first use, your browser may ask for microphone permission. Choose Allow. If you have already granted permission, the prompt may not appear again. You can also check permission in your browser's site settings.
-
Record your content through the microphone
Start speaking and check whether the timer and waveform change. If you need a break, click Pause, then Resume when you are ready to continue the same recording. Keep the page open while recording.
-
Stop recording and listen back
When you finish speaking, click Stop Recording. Wait for the recording editor to appear, then click Preview to listen. Check that the recording contains what you need, that the voice is loud enough, and whether you need another take.
-
Choose the section you want to keep
Drag the left and right waveform handles to adjust the start and end points. The start time, end time, and clip duration update as you move them. This page keeps one continuous section. Listen again to check that you have not cut off speech at either end.
-
Try enhancement if needed, then download
You can select Enhance audio if needed. Wait for processing, then listen to decide whether the result suits your recording. Once the section and sound are right, click Download to save an MP3 to your device. Confirm that it has downloaded before starting a new recording, refreshing, or closing the page.
Which features can I use while recording?
Use your microphone in the browser
Open the page to request microphone access without installing separate recording software. The input is your microphone. Whether recording works still depends on your device, browser, and permission settings.
Pause and continue the same recording
Pause a recording and resume it when you are ready. You can take a moment to plan your next sentence, adjust your spoken draft, or take a short break before previewing and downloading the finished recording. The microphone stays connected while paused. Click Stop Recording to finish the session.
Listen back and select a section to keep
After stopping, listen to what you recorded and adjust the selected range on the waveform. This helps remove an unwanted beginning or ending. It is not a multitrack editor and does not automatically decide which speech to keep.
Download an MP3 without signing up
Download exports the selected recording section as an MP3. This recorder has no output format or audio quality settings selector. If you need another file format afterward, download first and use Audio Converter separately.
Choose Enhance audio when you need it
After recording, you can select this option to try reducing light noise, trimming quiet sections at the clip's start and end, and balancing volume. It is off by default. Listen after enabling it to check whether the result works better for your task.
When is a browser audio recorder useful?
Save a quick voice memo
Record a task, idea, or spoken draft, listen back, and keep the useful section before downloading it to your device. This page does not create a cloud voice memo collection for you.
Try out narration, dialogue, or a lesson opening
Record a take in your own voice, check the pace and pauses, then keep the section you need. This page captures the sound you actually speak. Choose the relevant voice creation feature if you need an AI voiceover.
Practice pronunciation or a speech
Record a reading, language exercise, or speech rehearsal, then listen back to check your delivery and rhythm. Save a trimmed MP3 for your own later comparison. This page does not provide automatic transcription or pronunciation scoring.
Prepare a short spoken explanation
Speak an instruction, problem description, or lesson idea, then listen and trim it into a clip you want to keep. After downloading, choose how to send it yourself. This page does not provide public sharing links or a collaboration space.
What should I check if there is no sound or before downloading?
-
Check microphone permission and the input device
If recording will not start, check microphone permission for this site in your browser and in your operating system. If the recording is silent, check that the current input is not muted. You can also close other apps using the microphone and try again. This page has no microphone device menu. Choose another input through your browser or system settings before recording.
-
Test your setup with a short recording
Before an important take, record a few sentences and listen back. Find a quiet place and keep a steady distance from the microphone. If the sound is too quiet, distorted, or missing, adjust your device and surroundings before recording again.
-
Download important recordings before starting a new one
The current recording is available for preview and processing only in this page session, with no cloud storage. New Recording clears the previous take immediately. Download and check the MP3 before clicking it, refreshing, or closing the page. Keeping the page open is not a way to store a recording long term.
-
Trimming keeps one continuous range at a time
The left and right handles set the start and end of the downloaded clip. Content outside that range is removed. This is not an editor for deleting several pauses from the middle and joining the remaining sections. Use the relevant tool for existing files or other editing tasks.
-
Listen before deciding to use Enhance audio
This option tries to reduce light noise, trim quiet sections at the start and end of your selected clip, and balance volume. It is not the AI noise reduction feature on the Audio Noise Reducer page. It cannot guarantee removal of all background sound or repair distortion. If you do not like the result, turn it off and listen again.
-
Long recordings and processing resources depend on your device
Longer recordings use more browser memory, and previews and MP3 exports may take time. The experience depends on your device and browser. Try a short recording first, and close apps or tabs you do not need. If export or enhancement reports that resources could not load, check your connection and retry. Local processing does not mean fully offline use.
-
The input is your microphone, not system audio
This page has no recording input for system audio, a screen, a meeting platform, or a browser tab. It also does not offer transcription, cloud hosting, or other export formats. A microphone may pick up sound playing nearby, but that is different from recording a system audio track directly.
How is the recorder different from KikiVoice's AI voice tools?
KikiVoice offers audio creation and processing tools. Its voice features include AI Voice Cloning for cloning a voice, AI Voice Design for designing a voice, Text to Speech for turning writing into speech, and AI Voice Changer for changing a voice.
Audio Recorder is a separate free microphone recording tool for capturing real input, listening back, trimming, and downloading MP3. It does not replace AI voiceovers, voice cloning, voice design, or voice changing. Choose the relevant feature depending on whether you want to record sound or create a voice.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I record audio online?
Simply open the recorder, allow microphone access, and click Start Recording. When done, you can preview, trim, and download your audio in seconds.
Can I trim the recording before downloading it?
Yes. Use the waveform handles to select the exact section you want, then download only that trimmed clip.
Which microphone does the recorder use?
By default, the recorder uses your current system microphone. You can switch to another input device anytime through your browser or system settings.
Is my recording uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your recording is kept temporarily in memory for preview and editing, then cleared when you refresh or close the page.
Do I need to install software or create an account before recording?
You do not need separate recording software, an account, or a login, but your browser needs permission to use your microphone. When you click Download after recording, the browser still saves an MP3 to your device. That is different from installing a recording app first.
Why is there no microphone permission prompt, or why is the recording silent?
If you have already allowed or denied permission, the browser may not ask again automatically. Check this site's microphone permission, your system microphone settings, and the current input device. Make sure it is not muted or in use by another app. Try a short recording first. If recording is unsupported in the browser, try another browser that can use your microphone.
Can I pause and continue recording?
Yes. Click Pause while recording, then Resume when you are ready to continue the same take. The microphone stays connected while paused. Click Stop Recording to finish, then preview, trim, and download. Keep the page open during recording.
What format is the download, and can I choose WAV here?
This recorder downloads MP3 and has no WAV or other output format selector or audio quality settings. If you need another format, download the MP3 first and use Audio Converter. Changing an MP3 to WAV will not recover sound details that were not in the source.
What does Enhance audio do?
It tries to reduce light noise, trim quiet sections at the start and end of the selected clip, and balance volume. After enabling it, wait for processing before listening. The download uses this setting too. It is not the AI noise reduction feature on the Audio Noise Reducer page and cannot guarantee removal of all noise. Turn it off if you do not like the result.
Can I directly record system audio or sound from a browser tab?
This page records microphone input and has no selector for system audio or browser tab audio tracks. A microphone may pick up sound playing around the device, but that is different from recording a system audio track directly. Use a recording method that matches the actual input you need.
Can every device record for a long time and export quickly?
That is not guaranteed. Recording depends on microphone permission and browser support. Memory use, processing time, and stability with longer recordings also depend on the device and browser. Before important content, use a short recording to check preview and download. If export or enhancement reports that processing resources could not load, check your connection and retry.
Do I need to record again to trim or convert an existing audio file?
No. Audio Recorder creates new microphone recordings. Use Audio Trimmer to keep a section of an existing file, or Audio Converter to change its format. The next-step section above links to these tools.
